US E&S consulting market hits $25bn

In the face of federal uncertainty, core risk-driven consulting services and data centres create stronger outlook

US MA report 2026

The US environment & sustainability (E&S) consulting market surpassed $25bn in 2024, a 9% increase year-on-year, Environment Analyst’s latest US Market Assessment report has found.

Following exceptional growth in 2022 and 2023, the market is now on a steadier trajectory, as the stimulus‑driven surge fades, federal uncertainty tempers public‑sector pipelines, and activity rebalances across service areas and client sectors.

Data centre expansion is now a major market driver. Rapid growth in digital infrastructure is creating multi-year opportunities across impact assessment, water and environment, health and safety (EHS) service areas.
