Speeding Shamed: Viral Footage Leads to Road Ban for Lead-Footed Driver

A 49-year-old man from Dursley has been disqualified from driving and hit with a significant financial penalty after being caught speeding in Worcestershire.

Nigel Davis, of Ryder Close, Norman Hill, appeared at the Worcester Justice Centre on Wednesday, October 7, where he pleaded guilty to exceeding a 30mph speed limit.

The offence took place on Friday, January 16, while Davis was operating a Volkswagen on the A4103 at Leigh Sinton. Court records indicate that the stretch of road was subject to a local traffic order at the time of the incident, and Davis was identified by an automatic camera device.

Magistrates took his early guilty plea into account when passing the sentence. As a result of the conviction, Davis was disqualified from driving for a period of seven days.

In addition to the driving ban, Davis was ordered to pay a total of £775. This figure is comprised of a £461 fine, £130 in prosecution costs, and a £184 victim surcharge.

The court issued a collection order for the outstanding balance, with the full amount mandated to be paid by Wednesday, November 4.
