Fox News halted for a breaking update after it emerged that Donald Trump gave Iran one “final” warning. News presenter Trey Yingst told the hosts: “I spoke with President Trump for about 20 minutes and he told me that if Iran does not sign this deal, the whole country is getting blown up.” Yingst explained that Trump went on to say that “bridges and power plants will be targeted” if Iran didn’t sign the agreement.
He went on to tell the presenters that meetings are continuing on Tuesday and Wednesday to try and get a deal across the finish line, with the US President telling the news channel that it is a “very simple deal” but is the “last chance for the Iranians”. Trump said he wouldn’t make the “same mistake Obama did by giving cash to the Iranians”. He then went on to explain what the deal that Trump has put on the table entails.
He said: “The deal on the table is to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, to ensure the Iranians do not have this highly enriched uranium that is buried deep underground after operation midnight hammer last summer. Again, the President telling Fox News that the entire country will be blown up, bridges and power plants will be targeted if the Iranians do not sign this agreement.”
Trump also issued a statement on Truth Social after raging about Iran’s decision to “fire bullets yesterday in the Strait of Hormuz”. He wrote: “We’re offering a very fair and reasonable DEAL, and I hope they take it because if they don’t the United States is going to knock down every single Power Plant, and every single Bridge in Iran. NO MORE MR. NICE GUY!”
He warned Iran will “come down fast and come down easy” and raged: “If they don’t take the DEAL, it will be my Honor to do what has to be done.”
Trump said that it’s what “should have been done to Iran by other Presidents for the last 47 years”, adding: “It’s time for the Iran killing machine to end! President Donald J Trump.”
The Strait of Hormuz was opened, but the speaker of Iran’s parliament has since discussed the decision to reverse that reopening and stated it will remain closed until the US blockade on Iranian ports is lifted.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy warned: “No vessel is to move from its anchorage in the Persian Gulf or the Sea of Oman.”
