All eyes have been on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently following their recent trip to Australia, however, GB News has now aired a breaking announcement on King Charles. The King is set to be named as the royal patron of the Queen Elizabeth Trust – a new charity commemorating the late Queen Elizabeth II. On Tuesday (April 21), Charles will release a video message to mark what would have been his late mother’s 100th birthday.
GB News royal correspondent Cameron Walker said: “You may be aware that it is the late Queen’s 100th birthday tomorrow and to mark that, the King is going to be delivering a video message tomorrow morning.” While Buckingham Palace is keeping the contents of the message under wraps, it has released a still from the broadcast, which was filmed in the library of Balmoral Castle, where the Queen passed away, earlier this month.
Cameron continued: “A little bit of an announcement from Buckingham Palace this afternoon. It is one of several events that the Royal Family are taking part in to mark the centenary of Queen Elizabeth’s birth.
“It was just a town house, not a palace where she was born on the 21st April, 1926. She was never meant to be queen.
To further commemorate the occasion, Cameron revealed King Charles and Queen Camilla will also be visiting an exhibition at Buckingham Palace based on Queen Elizabeth’s fashion.
Not only that, Cameron said there is also a reception at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, which will be attended by other members of the Royal Family.
But it’s not just Queen Elizabeth who is being celebrated tomorrow, as anyone from Britain who was born on the same date will also receive a touching tribute.
Cameron added: “The best bit for me is that British people who are also born on the 21st April, 1926, who are still with us, who will be marking their centenary tomorrow, have been invited by the King to Buckingham Palace and they will be receiving their 100th birthday card in person, so perhaps a poignant little tribute for them.”
