Gorakhpur: Punjab National Bank organised the half-yearly meeting and annual programme of the Nagar Rajbhasha Karyanvayan Samiti (Bank–Insurance) at its zonal office auditorium in Alhadadpur on Wednesday, with a focus on promoting the use of Hindi in official work.The session was chaired by divisional head M.K. Mohan, while Rajbhasha Department, Ministry of Home Affairs Deputy Director (Implementation) Chhabil Kumar Meher attended as the chief guest.The programme began with floral tributes to PNB founder Lala Lajpat Rai and Goddess Saraswati, followed by ceremonial lamp lighting. Deputy divisional head Brijesh Kumar Verma delivered the welcome address, and Mohan highlighted the committee’s achievements over the past six months.In his keynote address, Meher emphasised the importance of strengthening the use of Hindi in administrative functioning and offered guidance to member institutions.On the occasion, the latest issue of the Hindi house journal Rapti Pravah and the inaugural edition of PNB’s e-magazine PNB Gorakhdham were released. A total of 64 winners of 12 Hindi competitions organised by member offices were honoured with awards and certificates, while annual Rajbhasha Shield winners for the financial year 2025–26 were also felicitated.
