1Tahanan Rep. Nathan Oducado criticized social media influencers for including his name in a list of lawmakers who allegedly signed the House justice panel’s report recommending the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte.

“I categorically deny that I signed any House Committee on Justice Report related to the impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte,” said Oducado, referring to a list attributed to Duterte supporter Joie de Vivre and amplified by aligned vloggers.

“I am not even a member of the House Committee on Justice, nor am I part of any hearing that deliberated on such a report, so the claim is not only false but impossible,” he added.

Oducado expressed belief that the inclusion of his name appears to be a deliberate attempt to make him a target for political attacks.

“This is a clear ploy to paint me as ‘fair game’ for harassment by certain groups,” he said. “We are tired of this kind of politics. We want leaders to lead with sincerity and integrity, not appeal to tribalism and lies.”

Oducado said that instead of being distracted by the noise, he would focus on fulfilling his legislative duties.

“While the impeachment process is in the hands of the House Justice Committee, I and many of my fellow Representatives have continued to work silently and diligently to ensure that laws get passed and the People’s needs are met,” the solon said.

He also called on the public to be cautious about unverified information circulating online.

“I urge everyone to verify sources and not be misled by fabricated lists and malicious content,” Oducado added. “These tactics do not serve the public interest and only divert attention from the work that needs to be done.”

He also warned that the spread of false information undermines public trust and distracts from real issues.
