Gwent Police officers investigating a report of an altercation in Newport are appealing for witnesses.
A man was allegedly seen chasing after another man with a weapon on Risca Road, Newport at around 7.30pm on Wednesday June 3.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of affray and released on conditional bail as enquiries continue.
Officers are appealing for the victim in this incident to come forward. The victim is described as a white man, with short styled dark hair and wearing all black clothing with white footwear.
Officers are also appealing for any persons who may be able to identify the victim, or any motorists with dashcam footage who were travelling on Risca Road, Newport between Upton Road and Llanthewy Road, between 7.15pm and 7.45pm on Wednesday 3 June 2026, to assist our enquiries.
