The person riding the e-bike left the scene with police now appealing for help
A schoolgirl is fighting for her life after being hit by an e-bike. Emergency services were called to Long Lane, Orford, Warrington, at around 2.40pm today, Wednesday June 17, following reports of an e-bike colliding with a child.
Cheshire Police officers arrived at the scene to find a 12-year-old girl had suffered serious injuries. She was taken to hospital where she is in a critical condition, the force said.
The rider of the electric bike did not stop at the scene with officers now appealing for help in finding him.
Following the incident, police closed the road while emergency services saw to the girl, with one person stating there was a helicopter overhead.
DS Russ Sime said: “We are appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened and has not already spoken to police to please get in touch with us. This occurred at a busy time of day when there would have been a lot of traffic and footfall in the area.
“The same goes for anyone with any relevant CCTV or dashcam footage from around the time of the incident.
