The AP team in Kenya delivered outstanding coverage of a deadly school dormitory fire, with strong visuals driving high engagement with the story. Follow-up efforts allowed them to capture the heartbreaking moments when families learned about their losses and to gain trust from parents whose children were suspected of arson, taking AP deeper into the story.
