Hundreds of schools across the country have closed amid the record-breaking heatwave
Multiple schools and nurseries across Greater Manchester will close early today amid the sweltering heatwave.
Record-breaking temperatures have been recorded across parts of the UK this week as a ‘heat-dome’ over Europe brings exceptionally hot and humid conditions. More than 1,200 schools are closed or partially-shut today (Thursday) across the country in a bid to keep pupils safe as the heatwave continues.
In Greater Manchester, though no school closures have been confirmed by local councils, a number of schools have been confirmed to be closing early as temperatures look set to climb to 33C in our region.
