Max’s Legacy, a non-profit rescue run by volunteers passionate about the rehabilitation and rehoming of all animals in need of help, says there is a ‘tough reality’ at present.
The Newton-le-Willows cattery says it is ‘completely full’, and it is calling on anyone considering fostering a cat to come forward.
The shelter has also issued an urgent kitten food appeal, as it has ‘tiny mouths with huge appetites’, and its kitten food stash is ‘running dangerously low’.
Staff are looking for donations of Felix Original Kitten Wet Food pouches and Whiskas Kitten Wet Food pouches.
Anyone who would like to help can drop them off at number 68 Vista Road, Newton-le-Willows, WA12 9ER, with a donation bin on the driveway.
In a statement, Max’s Legacy said: “We are at breaking point, and we need your help. The reality is tough right now.
“Our cattery is completely full, our incredible foster homes are bursting at the seams, and our waiting list of cats needing to come into our care is growing by the day.
“To top it off, slow adoptions and mounting vet bills are putting a massive strain on our resources.
“We urgently need to find loving homes for the beautiful rescue cats currently in our care.
“To help right now, keep an eye on our page, share our posts, and tag a friend.
“Even if you cannot adopt, your share could find a cat their forever home. Please help us by sharing far and wide.
