Several explosions took place on Leasowe beach

A bomb squad was called in after what police found at a home on Merseyside. Police were called to Princes Boulevard in Bebington, shortly after 3.05pm on Monday, July 20, to reports antique weapons and ammunition had been found inside a house.

A full search took place at the house before Merseyside Police recovered several items. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team attended yesterday, July 21, where an assessment was made.

The team removed several ordnance devices before controlled explosions took place on Leasowe beach.
