DU’s ‘Placement Drive 2026’ Bridges Gap Between Talent and Industry
NEW DELHI – The University of Delhi (DU) successfully hosted a significant placement drive on Saturday, a strategic initiative designed to forge crucial connections between its student body and a diverse array of prospective employers. The ‘Placement Drive 2026’ saw the participation of over 75 prominent organizations and more than 500 students, marking a robust effort to expand career opportunities for the university’s talent pool.
Organized by DU’s Department of Continuing Education and Extension in a collaborative effort with the Centre for Distance and Online Education, the event unfolded from 11 am to 4 pm at the department’s seminar room. This collaboration underscores DU’s commitment to holistic student development and career readiness.
Diverse Student Body Engages with Industry Leaders
The placement drive extended its reach to a wide spectrum of students, encompassing those pursuing MA Tourism Management and MA Lifelong Learning and Extension. Furthermore, students from various social science departments and those enrolled with the Centre for Distance and Online Education were also eligible and encouraged to participate.
This inclusive approach ensured that a broad range of academic disciplines could benefit from the direct interaction with recruiters. Attendees were provided with invaluable opportunities to understand available career paths, engage in one-on-one discussions with industry professionals, and gain insights into different sectors. The drive also incorporated dedicated career guidance sessions, further empowering students with the knowledge and tools needed for successful career planning.

The event attracted a impressive roster of employers and organizations from a multitude of sectors, reflecting the diverse academic strengths of the University of Delhi. Key participating fields included education, social development, healthcare, research, human rights, and the ever-growing tourism and hospitality industries.
Notable organizations present included Janhit Society for Social Welfare, Abhiyakti Foundation, Saraswati Educational Society, Child Survival India, Bal Vikas Dhara, Samanvit Shiksha Sansthan, Aakanshi Samiti, Indian Society for Applied Research, EFRAH, Samarth, Mitr Trust, ADHAR, and MRYDO. These institutions offered varied roles, from direct social work to research and administrative positions, showcasing the breadth of opportunities available.
The flourishing tourism and hospitality sector was well-represented by companies such as Uma Tourism and Holidays and Tripstride Tourism Pvt Ltd, which presented students with exciting prospects related to travel, destination management, and customer service.

The successful ‘Placement Drive 2026’ was organized under the esteemed patronage of University of Delhi Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh, highlighting the institution’s top-level commitment to student employability. Payal Mago, Director, Campus of Open Learning, and Kumar Ashutosh, Head of the Department of Continuing Education and Extension, also served as patrons of the event, with Ajay Jaiswal, Director, Centre for Distance and Online Education, acting as co-patron.
