Mumbai: The much-anticipated trailer for Yash’s upcoming film, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, has taken the internet by storm, amassing an astonishing 29 million combined views across all languages within just nine hours of its release. The film’s multilingual appeal was evident, with the Hindi version leading the charge, significantly contributing to the monumental early success.
The Hindi trailer alone accounted for a staggering 14 million views in the initial nine hours, showcasing a widespread anticipation for the film in the northern markets. Following close behind were the Kannada and Telugu versions, securing approximately 5 million and 4.5 million views respectively. The Tamil trailer garnered a robust 4 million views, while the Malayalam version rounded out the impressive tally with 1.9 million views.
The trailer’s strong performance was evident from its very first hour online. During this period, the Hindi rendition soared past 1.2 million views, with the original Kannada version also performing exceptionally well, exceeding 774,000 views. Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam trailers also registered significant early traction, hitting 378,000, 268,000, and 90,000 views respectively, underscoring the film’s pan-Indian appeal.

Kiara Advani Foresees a Career-Defining Role in ‘Toxic’
At the high-profile trailer launch event, actress Kiara Advani conveyed her profound gratitude to director Geetu Mohandas and lead actor Yash for entrusting her with the pivotal role of Nadia. “I truly believe that Geetu and Yash manifested for me to be Nadia in this film,” Advani stated, adding, “They saw it in me and believed I was capable of this much before I knew that fearless leap I was ready to take as an actor.”
Co-star Nayanthara echoed the sentiment, showering praise on Advani’s performance. “Kiara, I think this is one of the best films you have done in your entire career…” Nayanthara remarked, confidently asserting, “Toxic is going to be your best and you look absolutely stunning in the movie.”
Yash, the film’s star, emphasized the collaborative and ambitious nature of Toxic. He stressed that the film transcends the identity of merely “Yash’s film,” positioning it as an “Indian film” designed to captivate a global audience. “This movie is not Yash’s film. This is an Indian film where all the top stars, where all the successful people, where all the talented people have kept their insecurities, their goals, or even their selfish – every actor is selfish- their egos aside. And come for just one cause – to put an Indian film on a global map,” Yash declared. He also highlighted the decision to shoot the film in both Kannada and English, underscoring the ambition for international reach. “We have shot this in Kannada and English. Lot of people told I am from Bhuvanahalli. You know my English before yaa. What i believe is if you want to do something in life, nothing should stop you,” the star added, reflecting on his journey and commitment.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic boasts an ensemble cast featuring Yash, Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, and Rukmini Vasanth.
