However, the document also included a critical caveat: if the sports ministry and the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) did not accept the revised entries, the original representatives from the CWG would retain their berths.

Ultimately, it was this bureaucratic clause that saw Kundu reinstated, despite his loss in the ring. A similar pattern was seen in other categories, where Kapil Pokhariya and Parveen Hooda retained their spots despite the outcome of the trials.
