Box Office Update: Nivin Pauly’s ‘Bethlehem Kudumba Unit’ Cruises Past Rs 100 Crore Milestone

The Malayalam film industry is witnessing a spectacular run at the global box office as Nivin Pauly’s latest family drama, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, continues to dominate screens. Entering its sixth day, the film has solidified its position as a major commercial success, officially crossing the Rs 100 crore worldwide mark.

‘Bethlehem Kudumba Unit’ Remains Unstoppable

According to data from Sacnilk, the film maintained its momentum on Wednesday, recording an estimated India net collection of Rs 7.90 crore—the same figure reported for its fifth day. This steady performance brings the movie’s total India net collection to Rs 43.55 crore, with an India gross of Rs 50.90 crore. When combined with its impressive overseas haul of Rs 58.50 crore, the film’s total worldwide gross has surged to Rs 109.40 crore.

Audience interest remains high, with the film recording an impressive overall occupancy rate of 76.40% on Day 6. While the number of shows decreased slightly to 2,150, the demand spiked as the day progressed. Morning shows started at 38.67% occupancy, but the evening and night slots saw a massive turnout, peaking at 92.25% and 87.50% respectively.

Kerala continues to be the primary stronghold for the film, contributing Rs 7.50 crore in gross collections on Wednesday alone. Smaller yet notable contributions arrived from Karnataka (Rs 65 lakh), Tamil Nadu (Rs 55 lakh), and other parts of India.

‘Khalifa’ Shows Promising Growth

In the competitive landscape of the Malayalam box office, the Prithviraj Sukumaran and Vysakh-helmed action thriller Khalifa is also finding its footing. On its seventh day, the film registered a 33% growth in its India net collection compared to the previous day, earning Rs 1.53 crore.

Khalifa has now reached an India net collection of Rs 15.55 crore and an India gross of Rs 18.03 crore. Supported by a solid international performance of Rs 17.75 crore, the film’s worldwide gross now stands at Rs 35.78 crore. The movie saw an overall occupancy of 42.53% on Wednesday, with evening and night screenings drawing the largest audiences.

A Strong Week for Malayalam Cinema

As both films continue to draw crowds, the industry trend remains positive. While Bethlehem Kudumba Unit has emerged as a powerhouse performer by comfortably surpassing the Rs 100 crore benchmark within its first week, Khalifa is demonstrating sustained growth, signaling a healthy and diverse market for Malayalam cinema.
