Anees Bazmee, who directed the second and third parts, is said to be in talks to helm ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4’ as well, with the film eyed to go on floors in the latter half of 2027.

According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the makers have begun developing the core concept for the fourth instalment, aiming to further expand one of Hindi cinema’s biggest horror-comedy franchises. A source told the publication that Kumar is keen on establishing ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ as the country’s biggest franchise, and that the groundwork for the film’s core plot is already underway. Kartik Aaryan is reportedly involved in these early creative discussions as well, said to be enthusiastic about reprising his role as Rooh Baba for a third consecutive time. The report also claims that Kartik Aaryan is actively participating in the creative discussions as he prepares to reprise his fan-favourite character.
Anees Bazmee reportedly in talks to return
Anees Bazmee, who helmed both ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’, is reportedly in discussions to return as director for the fourth part as well. A source indicated that talks are progressing, with financial terms currently being finalised between Bazmee and the production team. Before turning his attention to ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4’, Anees Bazmee is reportedly occupied with his upcoming project starring Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan. Once filming wraps up, the filmmaker is expected to begin developing the screenplay and creative framework for the fourth instalment of the horror-comedy franchise.
When is ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4’ expected to begin production?
According to the report, the makers are planning to take ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4’ on floors in the second half of 2027.
