The 51-year-old was reported missing on Monday
Police have confirmed a body found in Huddersfield is that of a missing Liverpool man. Avtar, 51, was reported missing on Monday, July 20. It had been reported that he was missing from the Liverpool area and was last seen in Huddersfield.
West Yorkshire Police said officers searching for Avtar discovered his body earlier today in a car on Great Northern Street, Huddersfield. The force said there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death. His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: “Police searching for Avtar, aged 51, who was originally reported missing from Liverpool have sadly found a body.
“We previously issued an appeal for information as the last confirmed sighting of him was in West Yorkshire.
“He was found earlier today by officers conducting enquiries in Huddersfield.
“Avtar’s family have been informed and officers are continuing to support them at this difficult time.
“There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances, and the Coroner’s Office has been informed.”
