Humberside Police have launched an urgent search for two young girls who have gone missing in the Bransholme area of Hull today, Sunday, November 8, 2026.
Concerns for the safety of the children deepened this afternoon when authorities confirmed that seven-year-old Dakota is now believed to be in the company of 10-year-old Ellie, who had already been the subject of an earlier missing person appeal.
Ellie was first reported missing this morning after she was last seen at approximately 9:20 a.m. As police units began their investigation into her disappearance, a second alert was issued regarding the whereabouts of young Dakota.
According to the latest update from Humberside Police, Dakota was last seen in the Bransholme area at around 12:30 p.m. today. Providing a physical description to assist members of the public in their search, a spokesperson for the force described Dakota as a white female, roughly 4 feet tall, and of a slim build. At the time she was last seen, she was wearing a white striped playsuit. Notably, police have highlighted that the child is currently barefoot, adding significant urgency to the situation given the potential for the young girl to be vulnerable or exposed to the elements.
“Can you help us find missing girl, Dakota, age 7?” the police spokesperson asked in a public statement. “Dakota is also believed to be with other missing child, Ellie, age 10, from our previous appeal.”
The disappearance of both children has prompted a coordinated police effort to track their movements. Residents in the Bransholme area and the wider Hull community are being asked to remain vigilant and report any information that might lead to the girls being found safe.
Authorities are urging anyone who may have seen either of the girls or who has information regarding their whereabouts to come forward immediately. Information can be shared by calling Humberside Police on 101. Callers are requested to quote log 235 of 08/11/2026 to ensure the information is directed to the officers currently handling the search.
As of this afternoon, the search remains ongoing, and police have reiterated their request for the public’s help in bringing the two children home safely. Further updates will be provided by officials as they become available.
