Chelsea given huge boost for Man U game after breaking news from FA

Chelsea have been handed a big boost for this weekend’s clash with Man U with the news that a key Man U star won’t be available.

Harry Maguire has been given a one match ban by the FA after swearing at officials in the game against Bournemouth last month where he received a red card. The defender was found to have “used abusive or insulting words towards the fourth official” as he walked off.

It seems a little harsh given most players seem to get away with that sort of thing – but rules are rules and anything that protects officials has to be applauded really. If it benefits Chelsea… so much the better,.

This is obviously great for Chelsea, who face Manchester United on Saturday. Given our current form, we’re not sure it will make a huge difference. But United looked significantly weaker without Maguire against Leeds last weekend, and after Lisandro Martinez’s red card in that game, they will have just Leny Yoro and Ayden Heaven as centre backs against us.

If we can’t exploit that at Stamford Bridge, we really are hopeless.

Chelsea are struggling as a team right now, and that means their players are struggling individually too, as the stats show.
