Ek Din plot
Ek Din tells the story of Dinesh (Junaid), a reserved IT employee who secretly admires his coworker Meera (Sai). During a corporate trip to Japan, a wish for a day of love is granted when Meera temporarily loses her memory, allowing them to connect for 24 hours. As Dinesh loves Meera, he tells her they are in a romantic relationship, taking advantage of her memory loss. They enjoy a day of romance exploring Japan, but the narrative delves into the psychological effects of his deception and Meera’s eventual return of her memories.
In a recent interview, Aamir Khan stated that Ek Din is not comparable to Mohit Suri’s 2025 hit Saiyaara. While both films feature temporary memory loss, Khan clarified that they are entirely distinct. Ek Din centers on a 24-hour romance, whereas Saiyaara addresses Alzheimer’s.

In an interview with Hollywood Reporter India, Aamir discussed the selection of a Thai film remake for Junaid. He remarked, “Actually, it has nothing to do with Junaid. You must understand that Ghajini was also a remake. So, I have nothing against remakes.”
He also mentioned that his previous film, Sitaare Zameen Par, was based on a Spanish film. Aamir believes that when you encounter material that truly excites and moves you, it often originates from another part of the world in a different language. He also noted that he has never had issues with remakes over the past 38 years and will continue to embrace them in the future.
