Fate/EXTRA Record Sets Global Launch Date for January 2027 Across Consoles and PC
The long-awaited reimagining of the classic RPG Fate/EXTRA finally has a release window. Publisher Aniplex, in collaboration with developers TYPE-MOON and Meteorise, announced that Fate/EXTRA Record will officially launch worldwide on January 28, 2027.
The game is set for a broad multi-platform release, arriving on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC (via Steam), Nintendo Switch, and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. To ensure broad accessibility, the title will feature Japanese audio with a comprehensive list of subtitle options, including English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Korean, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
A Modern Take on a Digital War
Fate/EXTRA Record serves as a high-fidelity remake of the original Fate/EXTRA, which first debuted on the PSP. The game transports players to the digital realm of SE.RA.PH, located on the moon, where 128 Master-Servant pairs are thrust into a brutal battle for the Holy Grail. Players must navigate treacherous dungeons, gather intel on rival Masters, and engage in high-stakes command battles to secure their survival.
The developers have emphasized that the remake will feature updated, action-packed combat systems that allow for deep deck-building strategies, ensuring that every clash against a rival Servant feels both cinematic and tactically rewarding.
