Nearly £13,000 has been raised for a “friendly, good man” who died after a fatal stabbing in Southall, as friends appeal for help to return his body to India.
Gurbhej Singh, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency services were called to North Road, near Dormers Wells Lane, in the early hours of Wednesday, June 10.
Now, a GoFundMe set up by his friend Kanwaljit is aiming to raise £16,000 to cover the cost of repatriating his body so his family can lay him to rest.

Kanwaljit, who lives in Birmingham, said he launched the fundraiser just days after the tragedy to support Mr Singh’s family, who remain in India.
He told London Now: “He’s my friend.
“I set up the GoFundMe four days ago.
“The family is very poor and we need money.”
Describing Mr Singh, he added: “He’s a good person, he was friendly.”
The fundraiser explains that Mr Singh’s family is facing the “heartbreaking challenge” of bringing him home, with the costs of transportation, paperwork and funeral arrangements placing a significant financial strain on them.

It reads: “We humbly request your support.
“Every contribution, no matter how small, will help bring him back to India and provide some relief to his grieving family.”
“All funds raised will be used solely for the transportation of his remains, required paperwork, and associated funeral and repatriation expenses.”

Police were called at 12.41am by the London Ambulance Service following reports of a stabbing.
Two men were found injured at the scene.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, Mr Singh died from a knife wound.
A second man, in his 30s, was taken to hospital and later discharged.
Seven men, aged from their early 20s to late 30s, were arrested on suspicion of murder.
Six have since been released with no further action, while one man has been bailed pending further enquiries.
Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell, from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said officers are continuing to investigate the “tragic death”.
She said: “Homicide detectives continue to investigate Mr Singh’s tragic death and my thoughts remain with his family and loved ones.
“We believe he was assaulted outside a shop at the junction of North Road and Dormers Well Lane at around 00:30hrs.
“I would urge anyone with CCTV covering the area – or who was in the area at the time and has not yet spoken to police – to please come forward and speak to police.”
