India to ban import of goods made using forced labour


NEW DELHI, July 14 (Reuters) – India ‌has prohibited ‌the import of ​goods produced or manufactured using forced labour, the ‌commerce ⁠ministry said in a notification ⁠on Tuesday.

The notification, dated ​Monday, ​said ​it “empower(s) the ‌central government to prohibit, by notification, the import of goods produced ‌or manufactured, ​wholly ​or ​in part, ‌through the use ​of ​forced labour”.
