Indian Entertainment Giants Forge Alliance for Vertical Drama Domination

In a significant move poised to reshape India’s digital content landscape, Epic Studios, a prominent Indian production house, has announced a groundbreaking partnership with Rusk Media Private Limited (RMPL). This strategic collaboration aims to produce an ambitious slate of 50 original vertical drama series, with the ultimate goal of establishing the nation’s largest library of proprietary vertical-drama intellectual property (IP).

The extensive content pipeline will cater to a diverse audience, spanning popular genres including mythology, compelling drama, gripping mystery, edge-of-your-seat thriller, and heartfelt romance. These innovative series are slated to premiere exclusively on Alright! TV, Rusk Media’s dedicated platform for original vertical-drama content. The partnership strategically leverages Epic Studios’ deep-rooted expertise in television, streaming, and film development, seamlessly integrated with Rusk Media’s expansive digital-first distribution capabilities.

Aditya Pittie, Managing Director of The Epic Company, the parent entity of Epic Studios, articulated the vision behind this ambitious undertaking. "Vertical dramas are experiencing massive global and domestic growth, reshaping how content is consumed," Pittie stated. "For us, this partnership is about driving true scale and building the biggest library of owned vertical-drama IPs in the country. A slate of 50 original series is just the beginning – by the middle of next year, we aim to have over 250 titles, and becoming one of the largest independent IP owners in this space. Partnering with Rusk Media and Alright! TV creates a seamless, one-stop ecosystem that blends powerful storytelling with unprecedented volume."

Karanvir Sofat, Co-founder and Chief Revenue Officer of Rusk Media, emphasized the deal as a natural progression of Alright! TV’s commitment to delivering high-quality content specifically tailored for India’s younger demographic. "Epic has been a long-standing partner and this slate collaboration reinforces the commitment to deliver premium, engaging entertainment for digital audiences, that combine compelling storytelling with the pace and accessibility today’s viewers expect," Sofat remarked.

The Epic Company, formerly known as IN10 Media Network, is led by Aditya Pittie. Epic Studios itself boasts a rich history, having previously operated as Juggernaut Productions and MovieVerse Studio. The studio’s leadership team comprises Vivek Krishnani as CEO of its film division and Samar Khan as CEO of its OTT and TV division, bringing a wealth of experience to the venture.

Rusk Media, established in 2019, has quickly carved a niche for itself by producing mobile-first entertainment primarily targeting Gen Z and millennial audiences. Beyond its flagship platform Alright! TV, Rusk Media’s content enjoys widespread reach through collaborations with major platforms such as Amazon MX Player and JioHotstar, further amplified by its advertising arm, Rusk Ads. This strategic alliance between Epic Studios and Rusk Media is set to redefine the landscape of vertical content in India, promising an exciting future for digital storytelling. The commitment to building a massive library of original vertical drama IP signals a strong intent to capture and lead this rapidly expanding market.
