Ravi Teja’s ‘Irumudi’ Smashes Records: Crosses Rs 50 Crore Mark in Electrifying Opening Weekend

Ravi Teja’s latest cinematic outing, Irumudi, has set the box office on fire, officially crossing the Rs 50 crore mark in India net collections within just three days of its release. The film, which has been performing exceptionally well across theaters, witnessed a steady upward trajectory throughout its opening weekend, culminating in a dominant performance on Sunday.

According to data released by industry tracker Sacnilk, Irumudi raked in an impressive Rs 18.80 crore on its third day, marking a significant 16% growth over its Saturday earnings of Rs 16.20 crore. This stellar Sunday performance brought the film’s total India net collection to Rs 50.30 crore, firmly establishing it as a commercial success.

A Worldwide Success Story

Beyond domestic borders, the film is resonating strongly with global audiences. Irumudi added Rs 3.50 crore from overseas markets on Sunday alone, pushing its total international gross to Rs 13.50 crore. When combined with its robust domestic performance, the film’s worldwide gross collection has soared to an impressive Rs 71.87 crore.

The film’s momentum has been consistent since its debut on Friday, which saw an opening of Rs 15.30 crore. The overwhelming majority of the revenue is being driven by the Telugu version, which accounted for Rs 18.76 crore of Sunday’s total, while the Tamil version contributed Rs 4 lakh.

Regional Dominance and Occupancy

The Telugu version of the film has recorded phenomenal occupancy rates, peaking at 91.23% during the evening shows. The film saw high engagement throughout the day, with afternoon screenings hitting an 89.69% occupancy rate, proving that Irumudi is a major draw for families and cinema-goers alike.

The primary stronghold for the film remains the regions of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, which generated a massive Rs 18.25 crore on Sunday. Other regions, including Karnataka (Rs 2.30 crore), Tamil Nadu (Rs 53 lakh), and the rest of India, continue to provide steady support to the film’s total earnings.

A Powerful Narrative

Directed with a focus on emotional resonance, Irumudi follows the journey of Trinadha (Ravi Teja), an Ayyappa devotee grappling with a turbulent past and a struggle with alcoholism. The core of the film explores his evolving relationship with his daughter, Manikanta (played by Baby Nakshathra), and his moral conflicts against Gopal Raju (Sai Kumar).

While some critics have noted that the first half of the film feels slightly crowded with antagonistic forces, the narrative finds its footing in the second half. ETimes noted in its review, “The second half, however, patiently unravels these threads and gives the conflicts a stronger emotional purpose,” highlighting the film’s ability to balance high-stakes tension with heartfelt character development.

As the film moves into the weekdays, industry analysts expect Irumudi to maintain its momentum, further solidifying Ravi Teja’s status as a powerhouse performer at the box office.
