Exam Overview and Participation Statistics

The examination, which serves as a critical benchmark for candidates aspiring to pursue research and teaching positions, was conducted in a computer-based test (CBT) mode on July 17 and 18, 2026. The NTA successfully administered the test across 224 cities nationwide.

Out of 1,87,739 candidates who registered for the session, 1,50,057 actually appeared for the exam. These challenges were thoroughly scrutinized by a panel of subject matter experts. The final results are based on the finalized answer keys established after this expert review.

Next Steps for Candidates

The NTA has emphasized that the publication of scores is a milestone in the selection process. The eligibility criteria, self-declarations, and supporting documents provided by candidates will undergo further verification by the relevant authorities, in accordance with the regulations outlined in the Joint CSIR-UGC NET June 2026 information bulletin.

Candidates are encouraged to download and print their scorecards for their personal records and to remain vigilant for official notifications regarding the subsequent stages of the admission or eligibility determination process.
