Kangana Ranaut Pays Tribute to Karisma Kapoor, Declares Herself a ‘Gen Alpha’ Enthusiast

In a trip down memory lane, actress and politician Kangana Ranaut recently took to social media to express her enduring admiration for veteran Bollywood star Karisma Kapoor. The "Queen" actress shared a rare, nostalgic glimpse into her childhood, revealing how the 90s icon shaped her early fashion sensibilities.

A Nostalgic Nod to the 90s

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Ranaut posted a throwback photograph of herself as a youngster. Dressed in a quintessential 90s ensemble—black dungarees, a vibrant yellow T-shirt, and a sweatshirt tied casually around her waist—the actress offered a candid look at her younger self.

Ranaut did not shy away from expressing her fandom, labeling Karisma Kapoor, affectionately known as "Lolo," as the "original fashionista" of the industry. "Who all worshipped original fashionista @therealkarismakapoor in the 90’s ha ha! I definitely did," she captioned the post. To further set the mood, she soundtracked the story with the iconic track "Le Gayi" from the 1997 blockbuster Dil Toh Pagal Hai. While the digital tribute has garnered significant attention, Kapoor has yet to issue a public response to the shout-out.

Embracing the ‘Gen Alpha’ Spirit

Beyond her reflections on 90s pop culture, Ranaut also made a surprising declaration regarding her generational alignment. Sharing content that poked fun at the current trends of Gen Z influencers, the actress claimed, "It is official, I identify as Gen Alpha."

Praising the "no-nonsense" attitude she associates with the younger generation, she noted, "Gen Alpha is like ‘come to the point,’ no nonsense detected." She further shared an endearing video of a child dressed as a soldier, commenting, "Gen Alpha is bleeding tricolour," highlighting her appreciation for the patriotism she perceives in the younger youth.

Professional Front: From ‘Bharat Bhagya Vidhaata’ to ‘Queen 2’

Ranaut’s recent professional endeavors have been as diverse as her social media presence. She was last seen on screen in Bharat Bhagya Vidhaata, a poignant drama directed by Manoj Tapadia. The film, which depicts the heroic efforts of hospital staff during the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, garnered critical acclaim for its storytelling, even if its theatrical run remained modest. The film transitioned to digital streaming on August 14.

Looking ahead, fans are eagerly awaiting her return to a familiar character, with reports confirming that she is set to star in the highly anticipated sequel, Queen 2, to be helmed by director Vikas Bahl.
