Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward following the incident in Coedcae Lane in Talbot Green, Rhondda Cynon Taf
A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following an “incident” in the early hours of Sunday.
Emergency services attended the incident at Coedcae Lane in Talbot Green at 1am and officers from South Wales Police remained at the scene, on the pavement directly outside the exit from the Haveli bar, restaurant, and hotel on Sunday.
The area was cordoned off with a police car in attendance and a blue tarpaulin, seemingly covering something and held in place by mutliple traffic cones, in the centre of a cordon while the exit to the business was also cordoned off in order to protect the crime scene on the pavement outside.
A spokesman for Haveli declined to comment on the incident, which it said did not take place on its premises.
A person who passed the scene on Sunday morning said: “There’s a police car sat outside with officers in it. On the pavement it’s marked as ‘do not cross’.
“There’s a blue tarpaulin with cones on top of it which it looks like they are guarding. The area is cordoned off by scenes of crime and they are guarding the blue tarpaulin on the floor, which looks like it’s bulging or covering something.”
Police have asked anyone with information relating to the incident to come forward.
A police spokesman said: “South Wales Police is investigating an incident that occurred at Coedcae Lane, Talbot Green, that was reported just after 1am on Sunday, July 26.
“One man was taken to hospital with serious injuries and inquiries are ongoing.
“Anyone with information who is yet to speak to officers is asked to get in touch quoting reference 2600240608.”
We asked South Wales Police for further clarity on the nature of the incident but a force spokesman would only say that “inquiries are ongoing” and did not address our specific questions.
