RABAT – In a significant move to bolster international collaboration in the technology sector, Morocco and India have announced plans to deepen their partnership in digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), and the development of digital public infrastructure.

The strategic dialogue took place on August 24, 2026, in Rabat, where Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Morocco’s Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, hosted Jitin Prasada, India’s Minister of State for Trade and Industry and Electronics and Information Technology.

Establishing a Joint Commission for Future-Ready Governance

The high-level meeting served as a platform to formalize a framework for bilateral cooperation. Both nations agreed to establish a joint commission tasked with steering collaborative projects. An immediate priority for this commission will be the integration of advanced language technologies within the public sector.

By focusing on solutions that support multiple languages, regional variants, and diverse dialects, the two nations aim to bridge the gap between complex digital government systems and the citizens they serve. By aligning their efforts, Morocco and India seek to share best practices in AI regulation, the ethical deployment of machine learning, and the cultivation of a robust digital talent pipeline.
