The BBC was the big winner at the RTS Scotland 2026 Awards, gaining top spot across most categories at the event in Glasgow which marks excellence in Scotland’s television industry.
Among the winning titles were Reporting Scotland in News, Disclosure’s Care Home Undercover investigation for Current Affairs, Two Doors Down in Comedy, the Gaelic children’s show, Billy Bùrach, and Scotland’s World Cup qualifier against Denmark which was selected as the best Live Event production.
Surgeons: At The Edge of Life won two awards for Specialist Factual and for Post Production Motion Design and Animation, while drama series, The Bombing of Pan am 103, secured three awards for Director: Scripted, Sound (Craft), and Original Music Score.
And Scotland’s Home of the Year, which has just finished its eighth series, won the Lifestyle and Features category.
Journalist Sally Magnusson, who stepped down from presenting BBC Scotland’s Reporting Scotland in 2025, received the RTS Scotland Outstanding Achievement Award.
Louise Thornton, Head of Commissioning, BBC Scotland, praised the talented individuals and teams who won in 17 categories.
She said: “I’m delighted to see so many talented people in the BBC and from the independent production community honoured for their skills and dedication which results in brilliant content for our audiences.
“The quality of work across every category has been outstanding, and these awards rightly recognise the abilities, passion and collaboration behind some exceptional programmes.”
