Rashmika Mandanna’s injury delays Allu Arjun’s ‘Raaka’ by nearly 45 daysuntil September or October as Atlee prioritises recovery: ‘Health needs to come first’

The demanding schedule of one of the busiest actresses in contemporary cinema, Rashmika Mandanna, has been significantly impacted by a serious hip injury she recently sustained. This unfortunate turn of events has led to considerable adjustments in the production timelines of several of her eagerly anticipated projects. Among the films most prominently affected by her recovery is “Raaka,” the upcoming collaboration between acclaimed actor Allu Arjun and renowned director Atlee, known for his blockbuster “Jawan.”

According to recent reports, Mandanna’s injury has necessitated a substantial delay of approximately 45 days in the filming schedule of “Raaka.” The “Pushpa” actress is slated to perform crucial scenes in the film that are both physically intensive and pivotal to the narrative. Recognizing the importance of her complete physical well-being for these sequences, director Atlee has made the prudent decision to postpone filming until Mandanna is fully recovered and cleared for such demanding work.

The production team behind “Raaka” has expressed unwavering support for Mandanna during this period. Emphasizing that the actress’s health is the paramount concern, the director has explicitly instructed the crew not to pressure her into returning to set prematurely. This commitment to her recovery has naturally altered the previously established production timeline. Current projections suggest that Rashmika Mandanna might be able to resume her role on the sets of “Raaka” by late September or early October, contingent upon the pace and thoroughness of her recuperation. The entire cast and crew reportedly understand the gravity of the situation and fully endorse the decision to prioritize her health above all else.

“Raaka” itself is envisioned as a compelling science fiction narrative, with Allu Arjun expected to portray multiple characters, showcasing his versatility. On the occasion of Allu Arjun’s birthday, the filmmakers unveiled his striking first look from the film. The image depicted him with distinctive kohl-lined eyes, a receding hairline, and a thick grey beard, partially obscuring his face with a clawed hand as he gazed intently forward. The film also boasts an impressive ensemble cast, featuring prominent actresses such as Deepika Padukone, Janhvi Kapoor, and Mrunal Thakur in significant roles.

Beyond “Raaka,” Rashmika Mandanna’s diverse work front includes “Mysaa,” a film directed by newcomer Rawindra Pulle. This project, set against the evocative backdrop of the Gond tribal community, will see Mandanna in an action-oriented avatar. Additionally, she is part of the cast for “Ranabaali,” a period action film where she shares the screen with her husband, Vijay Deverakonda, and veteran actor Arnold Vosloo. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, “Ranabaali” is also slated for release this year, further cementing Mandanna’s status as a highly sought-after talent in the industry.
