The new Renault Duster has secured a 5-star safety rating under the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (BNCAP). In BNCAP crash tests conducted in 2026, the Duster delivered strong scores across both categories. It recorded 30.49 out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection and 45 out of 49 in Child Occupant Protection. Here’s a quick look at the detailed results.

The assessment was carried out on multiple variants, including Evolution (Turbo 160 MT), Techno (Turbo 160 DCT) and Iconic (Turbo 160 MT), with the 5-star rating applicable across the range.A closer look at the scores shows the SUV performed well in individual crash scenarios. In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, it scored 14.49 out of 16, while it achieved a full 16 out of 16 in the side movable deformable barrier test. These results indicate strong structural integrity and occupant protection in both front and side impact conditions.

In terms of safety equipment, the new Duster comes equipped with Electronic Stability Control (ESC), six airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill hold and hill descent control, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and three-point seat belts for all occupants. The SUV also gets seat belt reminders for all passengers.Additionally, Renault is offering a wide range of ADAS features on the Duster.
