Sai Pallavi gets emotional at Ek Din event, apologises for poor Hindi

Actor Sai Pallavi struck a heartfelt note as she addressed the audience at a promotional event for her upcoming film Ek Din, marking her Hindi film debut. Balancing gratitude with quiet nerves, the actor reflected on her journey and the people who have shaped it.

SAI PALLAVI GETS EMOTIONAL

Sharing the stage with Aamir Khan, Junaid Khan and the film’s team, Sai Pallavi delivered an impromptu speech that was both personal and emotional. Having spent nearly a decade working across Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu cinema, she spoke about how the journey has led her to moments like this.

“I don’t know what work I have done, but I feel happy that whatever I’ve done has brought me into a room full of such talented people,” she said. “I end up feeling very humbled. Aamir Sir is brave enough to be emotional in public, but I sometimes wish the lights were dim so I could be a little more emotional myself.”

She also had a warm mention for her co-star Junaid Khan, describing him as “an absolutely lovely co-actor” and adding, with a smile, “an obedient child – he’s very nice.”

She went on to praise the team’s storytelling, adding that their narration left a strong visual and emotional impact on her. “Every single one of you is such a beautiful narrator. I could see the emotions, I could see the visuals – it was absolutely beautiful. I’m grateful for everything that has brought me here,” she said.

SAI PALLAVI REFLECTS ON HER JOURNEY

The actor also reflected on her place in the industry, admitting that she never imagined being part of a space filled with such creative voices. “Sometimes I feel I don’t know if I was someone who would even come to a place like this, where so many talents come together. But whatever I’ve done has led me here, and I’m grateful for the journey,” she added.

Closing her speech, Sai Pallavi thanked Aamir Khan for the opportunity and opened up about the significance of Ek Din in her career. “This is my first Hindi film, and I’m actually quite nervous,” she said. “But it has been a beautiful journey. Thank you to the entire team for so much love.”

At one point during the event, Sai Pallavi also made a brief attempt to speak in Hindi, drawing a warm response from the audience. While she stumbled slightly and switched back to English, the effort was met with applause, with many appreciating her willingness to step out of her comfort zone as she prepares for her Hindi film debut.

Directed by Sunil Pandey, Ek Din is a romantic drama backed by Aamir Khan, Mansoor Khan and Aparna Purohit under Aamir Khan Productions. The film is an adaptation of the 2016 Thai film One Day, which follows a man who harbours unspoken love for a colleague and gets a fleeting chance to live that wish for a single day.

With Ek Din, Sai Pallavi steps into Hindi cinema after establishing herself as a strong performer in the South. If her words at the event are anything to go by, she enters this new chapter with both humility and a sense of anticipation.
