Last Chance to Apply: SBI Clerk Recruitment 2026 Registration Closes Today

The State Bank of India (SBI) is set to wrap up its online registration process today, August 27, 2026, for the recruitment of 1,538 Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales). This significant drive is focused on clearing backlog vacancies specifically reserved for candidates from the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Other Backward Class (OBC) categories.

Aspiring candidates who have yet to submit their applications are urged to act promptly via the official SBI careers portal to avoid potential last-minute technical delays.

A Special Drive for Inclusivity

This recruitment initiative aims to bolster the clerical cadre by filling critical backlog positions. The 1,538 vacancies are distributed as follows:

  • SC: 207 vacancies
  • ST: 1,219 vacancies
  • OBC: 112 vacancies

Applicants are permitted to apply for vacancies in only one State or Union Territory (UT), and selected candidates will be posted specifically within that region.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the SBI Clerk recruitment 2026, applicants must meet specific requirements:

  • Age Limit: Candidates must be between 20 and 28 years old as of April 1, 2026 (born between April 2, 1998, and April 1, 2006).
  • Educational Qualification: A graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university is mandatory. Final-year students may apply provisionally, provided they complete their degree by December 31, 2026.
  • Language Proficiency: Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the local language of the State or UT for which they are applying.

Application Process and Fees

The application process involves registering on the SBI portal and uploading necessary documents, including a photograph, signature, left thumb impression, and a handwritten declaration.

  • Application Fee: Candidates from the SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, and Disabled Ex-Servicemen categories are exempt from fees. OBC candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs 750.

Selection Process

The selection process is structured into three stages:

  1. Preliminary Examination: A 100-mark test covering English, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning, tentatively scheduled for September 2026.
  2. Main Examination: Shortlisted candidates will sit for a 200-mark paper consisting of 190 questions. The final merit list will be determined solely by the performance in this exam.
  3. Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT): Where applicable, candidates will be tested on their knowledge of the local language.

Candidates are advised to finalize their submissions through the official application link before the deadline expires tonight. It is recommended to download and save the completed application form and payment receipt for future reference.
