CHANDLER’S FORD – A fourth teenager has been arrested in connection with a violent Halloween party attack that left five boys hospitalized, as detectives work to piece together the events that led to a night of carnage.
The latest suspect, a 16-year-old from Southampton, was taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder. His arrest follows a major police investigation launched after a group of uninvited individuals allegedly jumped a garden fence at a residential property in Chandler’s Ford last Saturday, turning a seasonal celebration into a scene of brutality.
Just after 10:30 p.m., the intruders began assaulting a group of teenagers—three aged 16 and two aged 17. The attack spilled out of the garden and into the surrounding streets, leaving all five victims with serious stab wounds.
While four of the boys have since been discharged from the hospital, the condition of the fifth victim remains a critical concern for authorities. The 17-year-old is still being treated for life-threatening injuries, leaving his family and the local community in a state of deep anxiety.
Hampshire police have moved quickly to identify those responsible for the violence. In addition to the fourth arrest, investigators have been granted an additional 36 hours to question two other teenagers—a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old—who were apprehended on Monday morning, also on suspicion of attempted murder. A further 16-year-old from Bristol remains in custody after being arrested late Monday night.
As part of their ongoing efforts to secure evidence, officers have executed warrants at three separate addresses linked to the suspects: two properties in Southampton and one in Bristol. Police confirmed that several items were seized during these raids, though they have declined to provide specific details on what was recovered while the investigation remains sensitive.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the quiet Chandler’s Ford community. Local residents, who were hosting what was intended to be a festive gathering, were met with unexpected and extreme violence. Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses or anyone with doorbell camera or dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident to come forward.
“This was a senseless act of violence that has left a young man fighting for his life,” said a police spokesperson. “We are working tirelessly to ensure that everyone involved in this assault is brought to justice.”
Authorities have not yet commented on a possible motive for the attack, but the scale of the police response suggests a well-coordinated investigation into the activities of the youth group involved. For now, the focus remains on the recovery of the 17-year-old still in the hospital and the continued questioning of those currently held in custody.
