Shah Rukh Khan’s Iconic ‘Mannat’ Renovation Nearing Completion: Family Expected to Move Back by Late 2026
The wait for the Khan family to return to their iconic Mumbai residence appears to be drawing to a close. After temporarily relocating in 2025 to allow for extensive property upgrades, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and his family are reportedly preparing to move back into their beloved Bandra bungalow, Mannat, by the end of 2026.
A New Look for the Annexe
Since moving out, the Khan family—comprising Gauri Khan and their children Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam—has been residing in a pair of duplex apartments in the affluent Pali Hill neighborhood. Meanwhile, the Mannat estate has been undergoing a meticulous renovation process.
According to reports from Hindustan Times Real Estate, the primary focus of the construction has been the property’s annexe. The structure, which previously spanned six floors, has seen an expansion with the addition of two new levels. The existing floors within the annexe have also undergone significant repairs and aesthetic refurbishments.
Preserving Heritage
While the annexe has been expanded, the main bungalow remains untouched in its structural capacity. Because Mannat is classified as a Grade-III heritage property, it is protected by strict preservation laws that prohibit major structural alterations or additions. Consequently, the Khan family has ensured that while the facilities on the estate are being modernized, the iconic architectural integrity of their historic sea-facing home remains perfectly intact.
With renovation work nearing its final stages—estimated to be completed within the next two to three months—the stage is set for the family to reclaim their residence by December 2026.
A Milestone Year
The timing of the homecoming aligns with a significant period in the actor’s professional life. Shah Rukh Khan is currently gearing up for his highly anticipated upcoming film, King, which will see him share the screen with his daughter, Suhana Khan. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the action-packed project is slated for a theatrical release on December 24, 2026.
As the year 2026 approaches, fans are eagerly awaiting both the cinematic reunion of the father-daughter duo and the much-celebrated return of Bollywood’s “King” to his legendary home.
