The disaster, triggered by massive flooding along the Bhote Koshi River, has left a trail of destruction, claiming lives and leaving hundreds of people missing. The Scale of the Crisis
According to a preliminary situation report issued by the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), the disaster struck the Rasuwa region early Wednesday morning. While the situation remains fluid, officials estimate that over 400 individuals remain missing. This number includes 93 Nepali citizens and 291 foreign nationals, with citizens from India, the United Kingdom, Australia, the United States, Malaysia, South Africa, and the Netherlands reportedly among the missing.
While the NTB is currently working to verify these figures in coordination with travel agencies and local authorities, the confirmed death toll has already reached seven, with the number of casualties expected to rise as search and rescue operations persist in treacherous terrain.
