During a recent stop in Kolkata, the seasoned actor surprised his fans with an unexpected and amusing rendition of a popular line from the animated series ‘Oggy and the Cockroaches’. This lighthearted moment, captured and widely shared on Instagram, quickly became a viral sensation, showcasing a side of Deol rarely seen in public.
The clip, which swiftly made its rounds on social media, depicts Sunny Deol graciously acceding to a fan’s request. The fan explained that a character in the animated show, particularly the green cat named Jack, was often dubbed in a vocal style reminiscent of Deol’s own distinctive voice. This unique dubbing choice had created a viral phenomenon in India, leading to the memorable catchphrase: “Oye main papa hoon, duniya ka papa (I am the daddy, world’s daddy).” The fan eagerly asked Deol to deliver this line in his signature style.
Initially, Sunny Deol confessed to not having seen the show, but, clearly amused by the context, he sportingly agreed to try. With his characteristic intensity, he then delivered the line, first in Hindi and then in Punjabi, much to the delight of the packed auditorium, which erupted in thunderous applause and cheers. The channel introduced a localized version featuring Bollywood-inspired voiceovers, notably giving the character Jack a voice specifically modeled after Sunny Deol’s.
