After breaking box office records in Tamil cinema, Thalapathy Vijay also created history with his debut in politics as his political party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) won the elections and Vijay is now going to be the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
While Vijay is among the biggest stars of Tamil cinema, his presence in Hindi movies is rare. There’s been only one Hindi movie that featured Vijay and it starred Akshay Kumar in the lead role.
A Look At Thalapathy Vijay’s Only Hindi Movie Starring Akshay Kumar
Back in 2012, Akshay Kumar starred in the Hindi remake of SS Rajamouli’s 2006 blockbuster Vikramarkudu starring Ravi Teja and it was titled Rowdy Rathore directed by Prabhu Deva.
The movie featured a chartbuster song “Chinta Ta Ta Chita Chita” which featured cameos by the director himself and also surprised fans when it saw the appearance of Thalapathy Vijay even if it was for a few seconds.
In the song sequence, Akshay is seen calling out Vijay’s name as he enters the frame and then shows his inimitable dance move to Akshay and Prabhu Deva.
The particular clip has since then gone viral on social media.

Besides a brief cameo in Rowdy Rathore, it’s strange that a superstar of Vijay’s stature wasn’t seen in another Hindi movie.
During the release of Jawan, Atlee had teased about his next movie starring Shah Rukh Khan and Vijay as parallel lead but by that time the Tamil superstar had made up his mind about joining politics and retiring from acting in movies.
Vijay’s last movie is Jana Nayagan which wasn’t allowed to release in theatres in January 2026 and was leaked online last month. Considering Vijay’s political win, Jana Nayagan may now hit the screens this month.
