Watches and Wonders, the world’s largest watch fair, keeps getting bigger. Taking place last week at the Palexpo centre in Geneva, the number of exhibitors reached an all-time high of 65 brands. That translates to hundreds of new releases vying for collectors’ hearts and wallets. Amid such fierce competition, how does a savvy watch brand stand out?
H. Moser & Cie opted for novelty value, presenting a left-field collaboration that playfully riffed off the Reebok Pump high-top. A smash-hit in the ’90s, the sneaker became famous for the inflation mechanism in its tongue that could be squeezed to provide extra ankle support. The Moser Streamliner Pump reworks that idea, transplanting the orange button into the case, with each push charging the watch movement with an hour of power. It’s available in black and white, and buyers get a pair of Reebok Pumps thrown in.
