Akshay Oberoi is gearing up for one of the biggest releases of his career with Geethu Mohandas’ ‘Toxic’. Sharing screen space with Yash in the much-anticipated pan-India action drama, the actor believes the project is special for more than one reason. Oberoi pointed out that he is the only male Bollywood actor in a cast that features some of the biggest female stars from Hindi and South Indian cinema.Expressing his excitement to Mid-Day, he said, “It’s not every day that you walk into a film where you’re the only male Bollywood actor surrounded by such extraordinary women. It’s an honour to share the screen with performers who have built such incredible careers.”

According to Akshay, ‘Toxic’ reflects the changing landscape of Indian cinema, where collaborations now go beyond language and regional boundaries.Speaking about the film’s diverse cast, he said, “Language, region, and industry labels don’t matter anymore. ‘Toxic’ has artistes from every corner of the country.” The film boasts an ensemble that includes Yash, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth, making it one of the most star-studded releases of the year.

Akshay also opened up about his look in the film, revealing that it draws inspiration from the iconic style of Hindi cinema stars from the 1970s. Sporting a classic moustache and vintage hairstyle, the actor said every detail was designed to capture the charm of that era.Talking about his transformation, he shared with Variety India, “The retro mustache and classic hairstyle weren’t just styling choices. They were inspired by the timeless style and charisma of the stars from the ’70s. I’ve always admired the effortless screen presence of actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Khanna, Shatrughan Sinha, and Danny Denzongpa.”
