India has introduced a mandatory online health declaration for all international air travelers arriving in the country following updated guidance from the Directorate General of Health Services.
Under a travel advisory issued in June 2026, all passengers must complete a Self-Declaration Form (SDF) through the Air Suvidha 2.0 portal before traveling to India due to the ongoing Ebola disease outbreak.
Authorities said travelers should complete the form before departure and ensure all required information is accurate to facilitate smooth airport arrival procedures and enable health authorities to provide assistance if necessary.
The measure is designed to identify travelers who have visited Ebola-affected countries within the previous 21 days, including the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, and South Sudan.
The new health declaration is free of charge and is in addition to India’s existing entry requirements, including an e-Visa, where applicable, and the mandatory e-Arrival Card.
India welcomed more than nine million international tourists in 2025, making the new health screening process relevant for a large number of inbound travelers.
The Self-Declaration Form must be completed online through the official Air Suvidha 2.0 website within 24 hours of arriving in India. The system does not allow travelers to submit the form earlier, so it must be completed either the evening before departure or on the day of travel, depending on flight schedules.
Passengers are required to provide standard travel information in English, including their name, passport details, flight information, and first address in India. After verifying the submission with a confirmation code sent by email, travelers receive a document containing a QR code, which can be printed or saved on a mobile device for presentation upon arrival.
