Vanished Without a Trace: The Urgent Search for Alfred Nester Intensifies in West Milwaukee

WEST MILWAUKEE — Authorities in West Milwaukee are issuing an urgent plea for the public’s assistance in locating a 55-year-old Wauwatosa man who has been missing for nearly a week.

Alfred E. Nester was officially reported missing on Oct. 31, one day after he failed to return home from an appointment. According to a bulletin released by the Wisconsin Crime Alert Network, Nester was last seen at Octapharma Plasma, located at 1728 Miller Park Way in West Milwaukee. He was expected to arrive back at his residence by 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 30, but he never arrived, prompting his fiancée to contact the police.

West Milwaukee police are particularly concerned for Nester’s well-being due to his medical history. Nester sustained significant spine and back injuries during a vehicle accident in 2025, which have left him physically disabled. Because he does not own a vehicle, investigators believe he relies heavily on public transportation, specifically the Milwaukee County bus system, to navigate the area.

In an effort to generate leads, police provided a detailed physical description of Nester. He is described as a White man, 5 feet, 9 inches tall, and weighing approximately 269 pounds. At the time he was last seen, he was wearing a blue and black flannel shirt, blue jeans, and a pair of blue and white shoes.

The search enters its sixth day as law enforcement works to retrace his final known movements. Given his physical limitations, police are treating the case with heightened concern and are urging residents, particularly those who frequent the Miller Park Way corridor or utilize local transit, to remain vigilant.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have seen Nester since the afternoon of Oct. 30, or who may have information regarding his current whereabouts, to come forward immediately. Even minor details, such as spotting him at a bus stop or within a local business, could prove critical to the ongoing investigation.

Those with information are asked to contact the West Milwaukee Police Department at 414-645-2151.

This is a developing story. Stay with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel for updates as more information becomes available.
