With these new releases, Google has introduced several noteworthy changes and enhancements, prompting consumers to consider which model best suits their needs and preferences.
One significant alteration in the 11-series is the revised memory configuration. Google has commendably removed the 128GB models across the board, which often proved insufficient for modern smartphone users. However, a curious adjustment has been made to the 256GB versions of the Pro and Pro XL models, which now feature 12GB of RAM instead of the 16GB found in their predecessors. This change, while not necessarily a downgrade for most users, complicates direct price comparisons with the previous Pixel 10-series. The standard Google Pixel 11, for instance, presents a compelling proposition, particularly in the US market. Here, consumers receive a 12GB/256GB variant for the same price as the previous 12GB/128GB model. Despite the absence of the cheapest 12GB/128GB option in other regions, the Pixel 11 boasts several key upgrades. It is powered by the new Tensor G6 chipset, though it foregoes the HiLight RGB LED feature. The battery capacity remains largely consistent with the Pixel 10. A significant improvement comes in the form of boosted Pixelsnap magnetic charging, now at 25W, a substantial increase from the previous 15W, while wired charging remains at a respectable 30W. Furthermore, the main camera has been upgraded to a 48MP sensor with a larger 1/1.56” size, a noticeable enhancement over the Pixel 10’s 1/2.0” sensor.
Moving up the line, the Google Pixel 11 Pro offers more advanced camera capabilities. Its main sensor is an even larger 50MP 1/1.3” unit, complemented by a higher-resolution 48MP telephoto lens (5x/106mm) and a 48MP ultra-wide sensor (123°), a considerable step up from the Pixel 11’s 10.8MP telephoto and 13MP ultra-wide lenses. The selfie camera also sees an upgrade to 42MP, featuring ultra-wide autofocus lenses. While maintaining the same 6.3-inch display size as the vanilla model, the Pro version utilizes a sharper LTPO panel, enhancing visual fidelity. For those desiring a larger form factor, the Google Pixel 11 Pro XL mirrors the specifications of the 11 Pro but features a more expansive 6.8-inch display and a slightly larger 5,115mAh battery, compared to the Pro’s 4,850mAh. It also introduces faster 45W wired charging. Interestingly, the battery capacity is a minor reduction from the Pixel 10 Pro XL’s 5,200mAh cell. The primary enhancements over its predecessor include the new chipset and an improved telephoto camera, building upon the 25W wireless charging already present in the previous XL model.
Finally, the Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold pushes the boundaries of innovative smartphone design. This foldable device boasts a larger 6.5-inch cover display, while retaining the same 8.0-inch inner display. It benefits from a significant main camera upgrade, now featuring a 48MP 1/1.56” sensor, aligning it with the standard Pixel 11 and addressing a previous shortcoming of the 2025 Fold. The Pixelsnap charging has also been upgraded to 25W. However, the battery capacity has seen a notable decrease, settling at 4,806mAh from the Pixel 10 Pro Fold’s 5,015mAh. Despite this, Google has focused on refining the physical design of the device, making the Pixel 11 Pro Fold slimmer and lighter. It measures 10.1mm when folded and 5mm unfolded, weighing 239g, a notable improvement over the Pixel 10 Pro Fold’s 10.8mm folded thickness and 258g weight. While still thicker and heavier than some competing foldable tech from 2026, these design optimizations contribute to a more refined user experience.
