Woman Arrested After Striking Officer During Altercation at Dolphin Mall

A 22-year-old woman is facing multiple criminal charges after police say she physically assaulted an officer who was attempting to intervene in a violent confrontation involving her boyfriend at the Dolphin Mall in Sweetwater early Friday morning.

Natalie Molinero was taken into custody following the incident, which unfolded around 12:30 a.m. near Vivo, the mall’s popular concert venue. According to an official arrest report, the responding officer arrived at the scene to find two men locked in a physical fight, throwing punches and wrestling on the ground.

As the officer moved in to take both men into custody, Molinero reportedly approached the scene and attempted to physically obstruct the officer’s efforts. Despite being pushed back and ordered to maintain a safe distance, authorities say Molinero escalated the situation by striking the officer in the face.

The confrontation was quickly brought under control with the assistance of an off-duty federal law enforcement officer, who helped take Molinero to the ground. She was then placed under arrest without further incident.

Following the scuffle, investigators turned their attention back to the original altercation. Police determined that Molinero’s boyfriend had been jumped by the other individual and was acting in self-defense; consequently, the boyfriend was released without charges. The unidentified second man managed to flee the scene before he could be apprehended.

Molinero has been booked into jail on charges including disorderly conduct, battery of a law enforcement officer, and resisting an officer. She is expected to appear in bond court to address the allegations. As of Friday afternoon, no attorney information for the defendant was available regarding the Dolphin Mall incident.
