The Embassy of India in Amman recently hosted a vibrant celebration marking the 80th anniversary of India’s Independence Day. The event, held on a Saturday, drew a substantial crowd, encompassing numerous members of the Indian diaspora residing in the Kingdom, along with many Jordanian friends and media representatives. The ceremony commenced with a stirring rendition of “Vande Mātaram,” the revered Indian National Song, setting a patriotic tone for the proceedings. Following this, His Excellency Manish Chauhan, the Indian Ambassador to Jordan, performed the ceremonial hoisting of the Indian flag. As the flag unfurled, a band played the Indian national anthem, a moment that resonated deeply with all attendees.
Ambassador Chauhan then addressed the gathering, extending the greetings of the Indian President to everyone present.
