Kangana Ranaut Fires Back at Ramdev: "Don’t Daydream About My Youth or Bedroom"

New Delhi, India – Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut has launched a scathing attack on yoga guru Ramdev, fiercely defending herself against his criticism of her controversial "generation gutter" remarks. In a fiery Instagram post, the newly elected BJP MP advised Ramdev not to "daydream" about her personal life and asserted her character is superior to his.

The sharp exchange stems from Ramdev’s public questioning of Ranaut’s past and youth, following her contentious statements regarding Gen Z protesters. "What were her past deeds like, and what was her youth like?" Ramdev was quoted as saying, prompting Ranaut’s irate response.

Ranaut did not hold back in her social media retort, directly addressing Ramdev’s remarks. "Baba ji, don’t daydream about my jawani (youth) or bedroom. One can only assume based on rumours and gossip," she wrote, dismissing his comments as baseless speculation.

She then escalated her attack by drawing a stark contrast between their public images, referencing Ramdev’s legal troubles. "At least mujhe kabhi Supreme Court se fatkar nahi lagi (At least the Supreme Court has never named me in a case) for false/fraud efficacy claims based on hard facts, not some gossip or assumptions," Ranaut stated, taking a clear jab at the multiple controversies surrounding Ramdev and his Patanjali brand.

This refers to a significant incident in 2024, where Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna were compelled to tender an unconditional apology to the Supreme Court via affidavit. This apology was for Patanjali Ayurved’s misleading advertisements, where they expressed sincere regret for breaching previous court undertakings and promised to cease making similar medicinal claims or disparaging modern medicine in the future.

"So don’t give me character lessons. Tumse toh bahut zayada behtar hai mera character (My character is much better than yours). Mo fraud detected here," Ranaut emphatically concluded, leaving no doubt about her disdain for Ramdev’s criticism.

The "Generation Gutter" Controversy

The entire spat originated from Ranaut’s "generation gutter" comment directed at Gen Z protesters at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. These protests, led by the satirical Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), were reportedly in response to the NEET-UG paper leak. Ranaut had repeatedly questioned the Gen Z-led protests, particularly objecting to videos where some protesters allegedly used abusive language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Ranaut later clarified her statement, asserting that she was not making a blanket generalization about all youth protesting at Jantar Mantar. Instead, she claimed to have "specifically referred to some people or some women."

Elaborating on her reasoning, Ranaut stated, "Those who call themselves cockroaches, and we say that cockroaches emerge from gutters, what is wrong with that? My point is simply this: if people label themselves as cockroaches, and we say the gutter is their home, why should they be offended?"

She continued, "I certainly don’t consider myself a cockroach. If someone were to say I live in a gutter, I would deny it. But if someone claims to be a cockroach, then naturally, they would live in a gutter. Where else? But to claim that I was referring to all youth is simply not the case."

Ranaut further clarified her intent, stating, "If some young people use drugs, or if we discuss the current trend of addiction involving drugs, betting, gambling, or the dark web, addressing a specific segment of the youth doesn’t mean I was making a blanket statement about everyone. Did I say that all youth belong to the gutter? I specifically referred to some people or some women. So, how else should we address this?"

The ongoing public feud highlights the volatile intersection of celebrity, politics, and social commentary in India, with Ranaut’s outspoken nature once again placing her at the center of a national debate.
