The Department of General Education in Kerala has officially released the schedule for the first-year higher secondary improvement and supplementary examinations for 2026. The upcoming Kerala Plus One improvement exam is open to regular, lateral entry, re-admission, and compartment candidates, as well as those appearing under special categories.
Examination Schedule
The exams are scheduled to take place from October 12 to October 17, 2026.
- October 12: Physics, Sociology, Anthropology (Forenoon); Geography, Music, Social Work, Geology, Accountancy (Afternoon)
- October 13: Part I English (Forenoon)
- October 14: Mathematics, Part III Languages, Sanskrit Sastra, Psychology (Forenoon); Economics, Electronic Systems (Afternoon)
- October 15: Part II Languages, Computer Science and Information Technology (Forenoon); Home Science, Gandhian Studies, Philosophy, Journalism, Computer Science, Statistics (Afternoon)
- October 16: Chemistry, History, Islamic History & Culture, Business Studies, Communicative English (Forenoon)

A separate timetable has been issued for students enrolled in Art subjects, which also follows the October 12–17 window.

Exam Timing Details
The department has set specific timings to accommodate different subject requirements:
- Non-Practical Subjects: Forenoon sessions run from 9:30 am to 12:15 pm, while afternoon sessions run from 2:00 pm to 4:45 pm. Both include a 15-minute “cool-off” period.
- Practical Subjects: Most practical-based exams are shorter. For instance, Music is held from 2:00 pm to 3:45 pm.
- Biology: This subject has a specialized duration from 9:30 am to 11:55 am, incorporating a 25-minute cool-off period to account for the Botany and Zoology segments.
Fee Structure
Regular, lateral entry, and re-admission candidates are required to pay an examination fee of Rs 175 per paper, with an additional Rs 40 for certificate fees. Compartment candidates preparing for the supplementary examination in March 2027 should note that the fee is Rs 225 per paper, with Rs 80 for certificates.
