While many actors aspire to emulate Shah Rukh Khan’s technical prowess, Verma insists that his goal is centered on character development. “A lot of people want to become an actor like him,” Verma noted. “I really want to become a person like him because that really wins. Every character that I do, every film I do, my whole intention is to become a better person and then become a better actor, if possible.”
Verma recalled his first day on the set of King, describing a surreal transition from idolizing the superstar from afar to working alongside him. “He doesn’t make you realize that he’s him,” Verma shared. “After spending hours with him on the first day, I was going back and realized, ‘Oh, that’s the man of my dreams.’ That’s the one person I have idealized all my life.”

Verma’s admiration for Khan extends far beyond the craft of acting. He revealed that he has been deeply influenced by how the superstar balances his personal life, family values, and romantic integrity.
“The way he has nurtured and valued his relationship with his sisters, I want to do the same with my sister,” Verma explained. He also cited the emotional resonance of Khan’s filmography—specifically the pride depicted in Chak De! India—as a blueprint for his own relationship with his mother. “I really want to make my mom proud through whatever I do. So now, whoever praises me, it’s indirectly a praise for Shah sir. He’s the one person I have learned everything from.”
